FROM THE NETHERBOW
As the second quarter of 2021 nears its close a quick recap for you all on current and future TMF activities. In this quarter we've seen the launch of the online Directory of Musicians, and the completion of Year 2 of our TradMentor programme, two European Folk Network short conferences and the publication of a manifesto and action plan. Work that is about to be completed includes a social media training project (working with Showcase Scotland, the Scottish Music Centre and Hands Up For Trad), and a series of case studies on the work of some TMF members.
In the next quarter we plan to publish, with the Scottish Music Industry Association, a feasibility study on a Scottish streaming platform and to begin looking at a digital strategy for festivals. In terms of events we're planning training for tutors interested in working with neurodiverse individuals and groups, some personal development work with the BIT Collective and Attitude is Everything on accessible creative spaces, a gathering of teaching organisations, and a Trad Talk focusing on post-Covid recovery, climate change and mental health as they impact on our bit of the cultural scene. So a busy summer, with hopefully some live music in the mix there.
