On Friday 7th May we launched a fantastic new resource which we hope will help to promote the amazing traditional music we have in Scotland. The directory lists traditional musicians in Scotland with links to where you can buy, listen to and support their music. Enjoy exploring Scottish music through the link above.
ONLINE LAUNCH EVENT
RESCHEDULED TO TUES 18TH MAY 2021, 8PM
Unfortunately we encountered some technical problems on Friday 7th May which meant we were unable to show the online concert and Q&A celebrating the launch of the directory. We have now rescheduled this and invite you to join us on the evening of Tuesday 18th May, 8pm - 9.30pm.

This event features special pre-recorded performances from Maeve Mackinnon (with Ali Levack & Luc McNally), Rachel Hair & Ron Jappy, David Foley & Jack Smedley (with Jenn Butterworth) followed by a live Q&A with some of the performers.
Presented by the Traditional Music Forum and TRACS from the Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh as part of Edinburgh Tradfest 2021.
FUNDING
NURTURING TALENT FUND 2020-2021
Any young person living in Scotland who is aged 11 to 25 can apply for funding between £50 - £1000 from the Nurturing Talent Fund.
The next deadline for applications is 6th June 2021.
It's a fund designed by young people for young people and aims to support young people’s creative ideas and ambitions, no matter whether they have lots of experience or they’re just developing their interest in the arts.

MAOIN NAN EALAN GÀIDHLIG
GRANTS TO SUPPORT GAELIC ARTS PROJECTS
Maoin nan Ealan Gàidhlig is a scheme funded by Creative Scotland and administered on its behalf by Fèisean nan Gàidheal. It is open to organisations and individuals.
Maoin nan Ealan Gàidhlig is designed to assist the delivery of Gaelic arts projects.

PRS FOUNDATION - PPL MOMENTUM MUSIC FUND
Next deadline: 24th May 2021
The PPL Momentum Music Fund offers grants of £5k - £15k for UK based artists/bands to break through to the next level of their careers. Activities eligible for support include recording, touring and marketing.

IONA FYFE - THE NORTHERN LIGHTS

The Northern Lights is the new single from award-winning Huntly folksinger, Iona Fyfe. The release is in collaboration with Aberdeen Football Club, who commissioned the recording for their social media video campaign to release 21/22 season tickets.
The Northern Lights (of Aberdeen) was written by Mary Webb. The new interpretation was created with award-winning Scottish folk musicians Graham Rorie, Aidan Moodie (Gnoss) and Michael Biggins, the current winner of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year.

This is an original composition by Fraser Fifield. Instrumentation: 3 x Scottish Border Pipes, 3 x Soprano Sax, 3 x Low Whistle, Bulgarian Kaval, Highland Hornpipe. Dedicated to the late bagpipe maker and friend, Nigel Richard, (1948-2021) whose hand-made border pipes feature on this track.

Madderam - a Scotland-based traditional music band covering a whole range of styles from Gaelic songs to American tunes and everything in between.
